The Daniel J.Hannon Folk Festival

The Daniel J.Hannon Folk Fest was founded in 2016 and takes place in Brosna, County Kerry, Ireland. Dan was best known for his charitable work and his songwriting skills. His most famous composition is ‘My Native Brosna Town’ but he wrote many other songs which have yet to be recorded. The festival was initially supported by the Diaspora Fund courtesy the Department of the Taoiseach in 2016. Our recent festivals are inspired by the Millennium Festival of June 2000 which was held in Dan’s honour.

The 2019 festival is funded by the Community Support Fund & Culture Night funding courtesy of the Arts Office of Kerry County Council. The festival featured Song, Music, Poetry, Recitations and Gaelic Football. The 2019 festival took place from Friday the 20th to the 22nd of September.
